Weird, both my microwave oven and regular oven are built in, microwave on top of oven.

Microwave will turn itself off, loose power, after about 1 hour of no use.

Now, here is the weird part.

When I turn on the Oven for more than 1 hour the microwave power will come back on and it will ask me to reset the time.

What is going on here?

I was warming water and it evaporated leaving the glass bowl to get very hot. It is turn melted the plastic piece that turns the turn table. My house smelled like platic for awhile, I did air it out, but am concerned about the effects of the fumes while in the house as well as if the microwave is safe to use. Part of the plastic piece is stuck in the microwave where it inserts to turn turntable.

This morning I went to heat some water in my travel coffee mug before classes this morning. Instead of heating the water, the microwave melted some of the plastic off the bottom of the mug and now the microwave’s interior smells like just that….melted plastic and it rivals that of spray paint directly inhaled through the nose. Not a smart idea to begin with, but now I would like to remove the stench before it makes me and my roommate sick. Any ideas would be appreciated!!
