My daughter contracted head lice. I am worried about her stuffed animals being contaminated, but I think washing in hot water will wreck some of them. So what about putting them in the microwave for a couple of minutes? That should kill anything, shouldn’t it?

My mom was microwaving something the other day- that apparently wasn’t supposed to be microwaved- and it burst into flames! We don’t know how long it was on fire either, because she was in her room while it was warming. She came out and there was smoke everywhere. The house has finally stopped stinking, but the microwave is rank.. I *** when I go near it. So, how do I get rid of the smell? I’ll try just about anything as long as I don’t have to buy a new one.

My husband being the overly inteligent person he is decided to roast garlic in the microwave, needless to say he burnt it and no matter how many times I scrub the microwave with soap and water the smell wont leave and if I turn the microwave on the smell gets so much stronger, how do I get rid of it without having to but a new one?

I bought my daughter and her boyfriend a microwave couple of years ago. They are not the most careful pair and they have very little respect for anything, even if it costs a fourtune, even if they buy it themselves!! The inside has gone extremely rusty, with great dollops of peeling hanging from the roof-yuk!! I can’t imagine how they can bear to eat anything cooked in there! I figure that it’s the condensation that has caused this and I believe you should mop up any moisture b4 closing the door after use, but they obviously haven’t done that.
I’m not finacially well off and although I would like to get them a new microwave I can’t see that I can afford one with a stainless steel interior, is there a way to prevent this spoiling to another microwave?
Please don’t advice me not to get them another ect ect… I’ve battled for years & years with my daughter over her way of thinking ect ect, now that she doesn’t live with me I choose to have peace with myself and her by saying nothing.
Do you lot ever read ALL that’s written b4 you give your answers?

I’m sure I asked how to stop it rusting, and yet I’ve had advice on the one thing I asked NOT to be counselled on, and advice on saving the already ruined one, and even an idiot suggesting I’m mistaken about the interior of microwaves!!!!!??

PLEASE, can anyone tell me HOW to stop another microwave from going rusty inside?

Hi,

I have always want to know if I can use my microwave oven that has convention/combination/grill functions to make fish and chips well? I don’t know if the breaded layer will become crisp like if you fry it in hot oil. Anyone?

I have had no luck with brownies. I have cooked them with just convection on the setting the box recommends and the time. They looked done on the outside, but were not done on the inside. How do you cook with the mix/bake setting. My understanding is that it will microwave and convect. But how do you know how long to cook them.

I’d like to know if I can put the stoneware liner of my crockpot in the microwave. I no longer have the instruction manual. There’s no label on it saying whether it is, or is not, microwave safe. I also can’t find any info on the manufacturer’s web site.

Thanks for your answers.

Our window air conditioner stopped running a few evenings ago, despite the fact that it was running perfectly at the time. IT won’t run at all now. The same day, our brand new built-in microwave stopped working. It acts like it is heating things, but they come out cold. Does that seem like more than coincidence? What would cause them to stop working?

I have tried slicing grapes in half and putting them in, but all they do is make a sizzling noise. I don’t want to put something in my microwave that will cause a huge forest fire or blow the door off of it. But if anyone knows something that makes some nifty sparks (besides metal objects) or a small explosion contained within the microwave, that would be great!
